Laura McCafferty

Laura Mccafferty is a textiles artist who blends textiles and illustration to create snapshots of social events and environments with warmth, sensitivity, and humour. Her technique of combining applique, stitch, surface pattern, print and illustration is my main inspiration and the reason for my love of surface pattern and printed textiles.
Laura McCafferty’s work is truely incredible, these few images really don’t do them justice. Having seen her work up close at exhibitions I can honestly say I have never seen something so intriate and detailed yet simple at the same time. Her work is flawless, yet captures images from every day life which holds its many flaws
